    DSS-WISE Web User,

We are happy to announce the release of the DSS-WISE Web 4.0 Beta system, which you can access here: https://dsswiseweb-beta.ncche.olemiss.edu.  This is an independent cluster that will run in parallel to the main live version 3.0 system for the duration of the beta testing period (ending on June 30, 2026), after which all account changes and simulations submitted to the 4.0 beta system will be deleted.  The 4.0 beta system has been populated with a mirror of all existing user accounts and simulations as of March 20th, 2026, after which the two systems will operate independently. We will continue to operate both DSS-WISE Web 3.0 and 4.0 Beta in parallel until June 30, 2026 to allow users to transition smoothly, test the new version, provide feedback, and enable us to incorporate feasible improvements. After June 30, 2026, DSS-WISE Web 3.0 will be retired, and DSS-WISE Web 4.0 will become the sole live system.

The DSS-WISE Web 4.0 beta release includes the following updates:
    1. Broad back-end system improvements as part of new user-facing updates, including a new, consolidated web front-end.
    2. Ability to model levee breaches.
    3. Ability for privileged users to submit high-priority simulations that may be run on the fastest available compute nodes.
    4. Updated USGS 3DEP 1-meter DEM data.
    5. Updated simulation report map images.

Further updates and enhancements will be released later this year.  To help explain these features, a 4.0 beta release user manual can be found here: https://s3.ncche.olemiss.edu/public/documents/DSS-WISE_Web_v4.0_User_Manual.pdf

To help gather feedback about this release, here is an invitation to complete a survey via Qualtrics. Please submit your responses at your earliest convenience, and no later than May 30, 2026, to help guide potential improvements in the upcoming release. We would very much appreciate your feedback!
